Through the wall of Almereyda's affectations, I vaguely sense an even richer, more persuasive movie. Few shocks here.
I was not too persuaded by the movie's copious conceits and alienation effects but I grant it takes risks on them. Unusual, too, to see academic research tracked so closely.
