For Sama
First screened in October 2019
Directors: Waad Al-Khateab and Edward Watts. Documentary about a married journalist and doctor trying to keep their family, friends, patients, and city alive during the endless siege of Aleppo.

Twitter Capsule: Heartbreaking, nerve-fraying phenomenology of warfare as both a steady erosion and a series of horrifying, nearby blasts.

VOR:   As with Silvered Water, The Cave, Last Men in Aleppo, and so many documentaries on the same topic, the whole world should be forced to watch this.
