National Gallery
First screened in September 2014
Director: Frederick Wiseman. Documentary about the goings-on in and around London's National Gallery, from exhibition spaces to restoration offices to public lectures to administrative sessions.

Twitter Capsule: Less admin than you'd expect; squarer focus on arts and detailed labors of many kinds. Such edits! Exhilarating.

VOR:   Wiseman's portfolio of work stands with the richest and best in American movies. This one makes for a great intro, commenting broadly on art and its values and obliquely on Wiseman's own work.
